Delay Node - Agentic Flow in ConvyAI
Overview
The Delay node pauses the Agentic Flow execution for a specified duration. Once the delay expires, execution continues automatically to the next node.
Use the Delay node to:
- Introduce a cooldown period between two operations
- Wait before retrying a downstream step
- Pace interactions with external systems that have rate limits
Configuration

| Duration | The length of the pause. |
| Unit | The time unit for the duration (seconds, minutes, hours). |
Output
The Delay node produces no output. It passes the existing flow context unchanged to the downstream node after the configured duration.
Notes and limitations
- The Delay node is not a replacement for the Wait for Event node. Use Delay for fixed-duration pauses; use Wait for Event when the flow must resume based on an external signal.
